Equine Scapula

Updated: Mar 9, 2020

If your horse carries muscular tightness around their shoulder area, this can create issues for other musculoskeletal structures due to compensation and a change in motion.

Shoulder muscles need to be well balanced so that the horse can be functional and perform to the best of its ability.

Soft tissue release is an effective way to release muscle tension and promote circulation and healing.

The photo on the left shows muscular tightness in front of the spine of scapula and the photo on the right is the same shoulder post soft tissue release, the fingers can easily be placed in front of the scapula.

Always remember, Chartered Physiotherapists treat the body as a whole......from head to tail!
