About Top-flight Physio
Amy was born and brought up on her family farm, where her parents trained point to pointers and her dad farmed cattle. From an early age, Amy rode the racehorses, becoming especially attached to a 17hh thoroughbred who looked after 4 year old Amy when they went on hacks with the string.
At school, Amy enjoyed all things biology and sport related, so with that in her mind, along with helping to care for the horses at home, and seeing how therapy aided with their performance, Amy’s determination to become a Chartered Physiotherapist was born.
After gaining high grades in her A levels, she went to university to study Physiotherapy. Here she become a Chartered Physiotherapist and went to work for the NHS in the Musculoskeletal department. Alongside working, Amy studied at Hartpury completing the MSc Veterinary Physiotherapy course. This allowed her to be registered with the gold standard professional body, The Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy (ACPAT).
Bringing six years of academic training and expertise to the field, Top-flight Physio was born in 2019 and in 2025, Amy became a FEI Permitted Equine Therapist, allowing her to treat at FEI events around the world.
Amy has three horses at home (plus a cheeky companion pony), two of which she competes at county and national level in the show ring, being fortunate to compete and be placed at the Royal International Horse Show and has also competed at the Horse of the Year Show. Amy competes weekly through the summer with her mother (aka Unpaid Groom) being her rock when it comes to juggling work and horse life.
Dogs have also always been a big part of Amy’s life with vivid memories of trying to “tack up” their family Doberman to running downstairs with her sister to find their Labrador had had the most wonderful litter. Together, Amy and Will have now got a Cocker Spaniel, Bella, who is more like a child than a dog……but isn’t that the way its supposed to be?!
Animals, competition, and performance have surrounded Amy all of her life, and it’s what gave her the passion to pursue her physiotherapy career and to become a successful business owner.
